Captain Eric Baptiste and crew reeled in a a 31-pound ono and a 23.3-pound mahi on the Easy Money to claim the first Hilo Trollers tournament of the season.

Captain Aric Okuda and crew aboard the Kay L C 5 caught the largest fish, a 41.3-pound ono, while the second-largest fish was a 35.1-pound ono landed on the Ivy J II by captain Joey Johansen and crew.

The Olena caught two different flag fish — captain Ted Young landed a 10.5-pound aku and won a gift certificate donated by J. Hara Store — to sit behind Easy Money in the season standings. Captain Brian Catriz on the Laurie Marie 6 won the gift certificated donated by S. Tokunaga store for landing the first qualifying fish of the tournament.

In all, 37 ono and four mahimahi were caught and 11 of 14 boats landed fish.

The next tournament is scheduled for June 1. Membership forms and entry forms along with tournament rules are available at S. Tokunaga store, J Hara Store and Boat House Hawaii. Tournament entry forms must be turned in by 4 p.m. May 30, and Trollers welcomes new boats.
